I cannot believe we have a one and a half year old running our house around our house! I know I say this every month, but the rate in which this child learns and picks up on things is unreal. I started this post a couple days before Jordan hit 18 months and now I'm even a week late from doing her 19 month post! Where is the time going????? I actually know exactly where it has gone. For the most part at least. More details on all of this will hopefully come soon, but the beginning of May started with still being in the midst of interning with Bootique Fitness down in San Diego. Weekends were filled with baby showers, Mother's Day, our Anniversary trip to Monterey, a trip to grandma's over Memorial weekend and all of a sudden we were into June. Luckily my internship was over, but that didn't stop us busy bees. Grandpa Flood, AKA: Dampa, and Bobby's uncle Tommy came to town, we started demo in our house in between their golf outings and Jordan's sleep schedule, and then came my birthday.
Needless to say, we've been quite busy. Our house is now in a livable state, although my pantry is still spread out between our counter tops, our built in shelves next to the TV and our new utility closet. But enough about that. This post is about our beautiful little sponge! This girl...
I can't even keep up with everything she says and does anymore. She is constantly throwing us curve balls and exposing new things that she understands and can say.
She started saying "sit" in Spanish....sientate....and would pat the seat of a chair. It actually took me about a week to figure out what she was saying. Since she started saying the word over two months ago, her pronunciation has gotten amazing and she has just about perfected it. Other words from her Spanish vocabulary include: adios, vamanos, si, afuera, abre, zapato, calcetines, manos, and mas. On top of those, she understands, but doesn't use the words for her body parts; pelo, cabeza, nariz, lengua, boca, orejas, ojos, and panza. She can identify these in english as well, along with knee, elbow, cheeks, chin, buns, foot, toes, and teeth.
Her list of animals and animal sounds has grown a bit as well. This list includes dog, cat, cow, horse, goat, sheep, frog, snake, lion, bear, fish, penguin, monkey, tiger, kangaroo, walrus, octopus, elephant, bee (yes, I know that's not an animal, but neither is butterfly and she knows that one too), pig, duck, coyote, and her latest is the shark. I was teaching her shark one night in the bath tub and I must have looked ridiculous imitating a shark because this is how much Jordan laughed when I brought her back to her room to put her jam jams on.....

Gooo Dodders!! - Gooo Dodgers!! (any time she sees a sport on TV, she says Goo Dodders!)

I tying - I'm trying

dolfing - golfing
chair
conter - counter
owside - outside
hi ups - hiccups
eh sited - excited
wahburry - raspberry (I still have trouble understanding this one when she says it, but since she was really little, I have always done a little thing where I ask her for a kiss and then after she kisses me, I say, "How abooooout, RASPBERRIES!!!!" and I give her a big raspberry on the cheek. So when she can tell I don't understand what she's saying, she'll say, "How 'boooout...." cutest thing ever and SO clever!)
She will also repeat everything you say. We haven't had too many "accidents" in that department, but we definitely need to tighten down on the vocabulary that we choose to use. A lot of the time, she will repeat a word or phrase and I'll think it's really cute, but wont think much of it.....till about 3 or 4 days later when she uses the same word or phrase in the correct context and it blows me away!
Jordan spent her first weekend at Grandma's house while Bobby and I drove up the coast to Monterey. It was my first time away from her overnight and although it was tough, it was worth it and I think it was good for all of us. I cried leaving, of course, and I think cried after each time we talked to her on the phone or Skyped with her.....
but seeing her face light up with excitement when we walked in the door at my mom's house was priceless! (Which reminds me.....she added a new "face" to her repertoire. Her excited face. She clenches her fists and raises her eyebrows and then quivers her face a little - if that makes any sort of sense!)
That's about all I can think of to bore you with right now :) and like I said earlier, I'm really hoping to post on all of the other randomness that has been our lives for the past couple months.
