I started this post as J's 26 month update on January 9th and it sat in draft form this whole time, just waiting to be combined with her 27 month update.
Our little spunky gal is 26 months...and now 27! She has taken on the roll of Big Sister so effortlessly and is always so concerned about her little sister. She is sure to give B a hug and a kiss before bed every night and always asks to make sure B is going wherever the rest of us are going. Last weekend we were on our way home from my aunt's house in Temecula and B was fussing a good portion of the drive home. By the time we were getting off the freeway, J was pleading, "Please pick her up, Mama! Please pick her up, Dada!" It was so sweet and so sad at the same time.
She speaks in full sentences/conversations now and I'm still flabbergasted by the things that come out of her mouth. For instance, when I normally ask her if she thank Dada for her breakfast, she would reply with something like, "Thank Dada for breakfast," while looking at me. Now when I ask her, she will answer my question and say, "No," and then look at Dada and say, "Thank you for my breakfast, Dada!" Pretty stinking cool!
At bed time, since she was itty bitty, I have always said the same thing to her before I walk out of her room at night..."Goodnight, sweetheart. I'll see you in the morning. Sleep well. I love you!" For awhile, she had been repeating each sentence in her own little toddler way and even added her own twist of saying, "sweet dreams!" at the very end. More recently though, instead of repeating "Goodnight, sweetheart" she says, "Goodnight, mama!" It's so neat to see that she's actually understanding how to reciprocate those little statements.
She loves giving B check ups with her Dr. kit and likes to pretend that her stuffed animals are sick and she makes them feel better.

For a little while she was calling B, "Brynnlee sister" instead of baby sister and more recently called her "Brynnlee Bear" and it made my heart melt. They're going to BFFs for LIFE.....I hope!
She's still in diapers for naps and bedtime, but potty training has gotten a bit better. Some claim that she IS potty trained because she wears big girl chonies (panties) all day, but I don't consider her trained because she still wont ever tell us she has to go aside from the rare occasion when we are out and about. I think she tells us then because she likes the novelty of a public bathroom. Cause they're SO exciting, right?
She naps around 1:30 now and sometimes sleeps for almost 2 hours (!!!), but other times it's still just an hour.
Some of our favorite Jordan-isms include:
"Don't wipe my kisses!" - Said as she's wiping away a kiss that mama gave her.
"Don't you dare smile!" - Dada started this one and when she says it out of the blue, we find it hysterical.
"In the plush!" - This is a quote from Oso, but she has started saying it when she is naked!
"Hasta mañana" - she says this to Maria, unprompted, when she leaves for the day.
She has learned and can say her full name now.
Has tons of inside jokes with dada that are too cute for words.
Has really improved in her skills with a spoon and fork. I can confidently give her a bowl of apple sauce and her spoon and get away with very minimal spillage.
Just as every two year old, she is full of life and wonderment. Her sense of humor is so fun to see as it develops and we are such proud parents.

You are growing up way, way, way too fast, but we are enjoying every bit of it and watching the wheels turn in your head as you learn new things. You are such an amazing big sister and you have an amazing love for Brynnlee that makes your mama's heart smile.
Keep growing, thriving, and surprising us with new things every day. That's what life is all about.
