Halloween was a lot of fun this year! Jordan took a liking to all of the halloween decorations right away and everything was "Spooky"! She loved seeing skeletons and pumpkins and we could not make a trip to Target without going to the back of the store to see the "birdies and moon" on the wall. They're Halloween display had a big poster on the wall of bats with a moon and she had to see it at least once for every time we set foot in the store. She loved watching all of the "spooky" Disney Jr. shows that were on and was very excited to wear her costume.
We never made it out to Bates Nut Farm this year. (Am I the only one that feels it's a waste of time and money??? I didn't think it was that great last year. Maybe because she was so young?)
Don't get me wrong, last year's trip was a lot of fun, I just didn't see what all the hype was about. We also never carved pumpkins this year. I guess I didn't feel like cleaning up another mess like this...
However, unlike last year, we did make it out Trick or Treating this year. Jordan had come down with a mild case of Croup over Halloween last year, so we took advantage of the cool crisp air outside and dressed her up for pictures outside and then came back in to hand out candy. Of course, she was the cutest ladybug I'd ever seen =o)
In place of Bates Nut Farm, we went out to a local pumpkin patch down the road on a random Friday night and we had a BLAST! I stuffed B into the Moby and we took J out to run around and soak it all in. She spent the majority of her time in the jumpy (shocker!)
a little bit of time in the petting zoo with the goats or "ghosts", as Jordan called them
and the rest of her time touching all the pumpkins and posing for pictures!
B was a trooper and got lots of attention from other women that were there.
Now, even though we decided not to carve pumpkins, Jordan was able to enjoy her very own "Pumpkin Eyes" (yes, another Oso reference) that dada picked up at Home Depot and drew a face on for her. She was obsessed with it and I'm actually shocked that the pumpkin's guts were never splattered across my floor!
On the night of Halloween, it was a struggle to get J to eat her dinner. She just wanted to put her Pooh Bear costume on and go outside for Happy Halloween! I finally got both girls dressed and I couldn't help but smile at the cuteness of these two all dressed up.
I'm one lucky mama!
We didn't have plans of taking J out to get loaded up on candy, we just wanted her to get out and see what Halloween was all about, check out the decorations, costumes, and see some of the neighbors. We ended up going up to two neighbors' doors for her to Trick or Treat. At the second house, Bobby went up to the door with her and to talking with a friend of ours. Next thing we know, J is wandering through their house picking up random things and putting them in her bucket!!! Our little Winnie the Pooh klepto! We headed back home after that and enjoyed seeing about a dozen kids come to our door and then it was off to dream land for both little one's. I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable Halloween with our two girls. My heart is so full of love!
