Instead of rambling about anything that I can remember when I write the girls' update posts, I came across this little survey that I'm going to try out and see how I like. Feel free to comment with your preference as well...free form or survey???
How old? Two Months
Doctor’s appointments? Last Friday (11/09)
Stats:
Weight: 13.2 lbs (84th percentile)
Height: 24 inches (95th percentile)
Clothes size: 3 month and some 3 to 6 month.
Diaper size: I'm still squeezing her into some Pampers 1-2s that I have left, but definitely 2's for overnight and I'm thinking I may even need to move to 3's for overnight. She rarely wakes up without soaked clothes.
Hair color: Brown
Eye color: Brownish around the outside and a lighter gray closer to the pupil.
Milestones:
Teething: Not that I know of.
Talking: Her little coo's and babble are priceless! I want to record every bit of it and save it forever.
Anything else: She rolled over front to back twice on 11/08, but I think it was a fluke because both times that it happened were right after I had put her down and it hasn't happened since.
Sleeping: The majority of nights I get about a 3.5 hour stretch out of her with the occasional 4+ hours. Although, she went 5+ hours and then an additional 6 hours and 40 minutes on 11/04. I thought we had turned a corner after that night, but she has gone back to the shorter spans since. She goes to bed between 8 and 9pm and is up for the day around 8 or 9 am. Aside from when we are out and about, I am trying to be diligent about her napping in her crib now. While she can put herself to sleep fairly easily, she can't seem to get passed the first stage of sleep and ends up waking up after about 45 minutes. I had read that anything less than 20 minutes meant they weren't tired enough before they went down and anything more than 20, but less than 45 meant that they were overtired by the time they went down. I've been doing my best to try to get her down and the right time, but haven't seemed to find that perfect point yet. She is typically awake for about 70 minutes at a time until the evenings and then she seems to stay awake and take tiny cat naps until she passes out for the night.
Eating: Lately she has been nursing every 2 or 3 hours, but has gone to both extremes with eating every hour and a half to not eating for 5 or 6 hours.
Nicknames: Chunk a Monk and Sissy
Things we’re looking forward to next month: More interaction from her and watching her develop even more. We will be spending her first Thanksgiving at my moms and I am so excited for her to meet her Great Grandma (G2), my aunt, two of my uncles, and more of her cousins, including the newest to the family, Alexa, that was just born on 11/11!
Random: She seems to have gotten over her hatred for the car/carseat, diaper/clothing changes, and the bath. Crying is now only brought on by times when she needs something. Her neck rot is in full force. I have to clean out all of her nooks and crannies constantly or she winds up smelling like spoiled milk. So gross! Her baby acne has cleared up now, but her cradle cap is still very active. I've been putting Olive Oil across her eyebrows and on her scalp, letting it soak in a bit and then using her soft bristle brush to gentle scrub the areas in circles to loosen everything up. It all looks wonderful directly after her bath, but the following day, her scalp starts to dry out again and the scales show up again. The area across her eyebrows takes a bit longer to develop back up. I'm anxious for the day that it's gone for good! She also has a blocked tear duct. I didn't think she did because Jordan had one and the corner of her eye would get all crusty and gross, but B's just pools up occasionally and then drips down her face. I guess it's the same issue, just not as severe.
